AS SEEN AND HEARD @ SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION ASIA

Recently, I was the event emcee for Singapore Deep Tech Alliance’s flagship event  “Sustainable Innovation Asia 2023 “

Chairman Peter Ong from Enterprise Singapore delivered a terrific keynote . What interests me is how companies in Singapore are responding to global ESG goals. It is a new era for supply-chain management as more MNC’s scrutinise their end-to-end value chain emissions for Scope 3 emission hotspots. MNC’s want business partners who will help them meet global sustainability disclosure  standards and this has the potential to radically change business models.

Climate change has taken a place of prominence in our headlines, and it’s become a regular part of the interviews I do on on-air from 9 am. My work on Money FM gives me an exciting front-row seat at the intersection of venture capital, sustainability and technological innovation. Here in Singapore, we are aiming to achieve net zero by 2050, a commitment that was announced at COP27 last year. We are the first country in South-East Asia to implement a carbon tax which we are planning to increase to $50-$80 per tonne by 2030.

ESG integration, impact investing, climate change, social responsibility, and corporate governance - all regular topics of conversation for me, so this was an enlightening day’s work.
